Introduction to Music
There
are many different websites that allows you to listen to music whether or not
you have a radio. Some of the sites include: Youtube, Soundcloud, and also
Pandora. There are also different genres of music such as gospel, opera,
R&B, country, instrumental, Rock and Roll, and Rap. Music has improved by
using different beats, tempos, and also word choices. For example, artists such
as Queen Latifah rapped about what was going on in life when she first started
out. Now many people may talk about the things that they wish they had or maybe
even their relationships.
I. Gospel
Gospel
is mostly listened to by spiritually people regardless of their domination of
choice. Two different types of gospel music is contemporary and southern
gospel. Contemporary gospel is more upbeat gospel music that is listened to
frequently today. Gospel music is music that is used to express feelings toward
Christian life between many different Christians. Christian music is mostly
played on Sunday's if not other days of the week.

II. Opera
Opera
can be compared to musicals. They involve men and women, but their voices are
highly trained to be loud and strong in big rooms. Opera started in the
sixteenth century in Italy. In opera people wear dramatic costumes to project
the bodies, acting to perform the music.

III. R&B
R&B
singers can be singers from different time periods such as Aretha Franklin in
the 70s to Usher from the 20th century. The letter R&B stands for rhythm
and blues. Other famous people from this time is James Brown, Aaliyah, and
Whitney Houston. R&B is for people who go though life and learn lessons.
They tell stories through their music whether the songs are good or bad. Two
different types of R&B is Urban R&B and Soul R&B.

IV. Country

V. Instrumental
Instrumental
music is my favorite type of music because I was in the band. Instrumental
music in my opinion leaves room for relaxation. Instrumental music is music
that has not lyrics or singing in it. Instrumentals are used by people going
into the music industry to get their start and sometimes in classrooms to help
motivate students. Instrumentals can be beats or instrumentation from an actual
album.

Why more schools aren't teaching web literacy-and how they can start
Web literacy is very important in all schools. Schools should start teaching web literacy, but I think computer time should be limited and monitered closely. I think that introducing younger childen into social networks such as twitter and facebook is not a good idea because it is used more by older students. As stated in the article sometimes schools try and block websites that they perfer students not to use such as facebook and twitter, but students always find a way around things like that. Web literacy will not be a hard subject to cover because most students know from exploring at home that many things about urls. Therefore, they only need guidance on small things such as punctuation and the ending codes. The three pillars essential for web literature: purposeful search, effective organization and collababoration, and sharing and making sense of information are good guidelines to teach web literacy because it hits the most important things about using the web. Claboration and effective organization is extremely important for students such as Zach because if it had been taught he could have been able to realize the truth within the article he read. Using a hash tag to find similar topics and ideas is a smart way to explain how to recieve more information. As stated before, I do not feel like children should be introduced to websites such as twitter even if it is a school account.

The Virtures of Blogging as Shcolarly Activity
Because blogging is an open source of research, it has to be watched carefully. I think that blogging should be used as a source of research, but only when using valid credentials. This meaning that the person who says something must have a link to prove the truth about something that is being said unless it is an opinion. Using blogs as a research may also cause a problem for those who use a post that may get flagged as time progress. I don't see a problem with using it as a research because it's more opinions whether you agree with them or not.
Weller also talks about other social networking being a form of blogging. I understand why he feels as if social networking is a form of blogging because people say things, relevant or not, and people comment on them according to how they feel about what is being posted. Blogging as the author stated can also have negative effects on a person's work. He admitted that after he started blogging he was more connected globally, but he wasn't publishing as many journals as he had before. Blogging may discourage one from blogging if the things they say aren't being responded to. However, I think blogging is quicker that doing actual research and allows more opinion that the person who is giving the information.
GAMIFICATION-IT365
GAMIFICATION
Gamification is a great strategy to use in the classroom because of the pros that it offers. The Gamification article explains how many people are using gamification inside the classroom, offices, and also for health programs, such as weight watchers. I think the reason why the gamification system works so well, is because everyone likes the thought of "winning" something. As explained in the article students can win things such as awards and badges. Sometimes they can also win the opportunity to turn things in at a different time. Everyone loves to compete and gamification provides competing and the ability to learn.
The group learning shown in the article's scenario, shows how gamification is used in groups, which I feel as though it makes really makes the information stay. The article also talks about how technology is also used in the gamification system. An example of technology gamification that I have experienced in the classroom is jeopardy. Playing jeopardy allow for knowledge to stick with students as well as helping them find out what sections of work they are not so well with.
The article also talks about the cons of gamification. The author states that if gamification is not successful it only provides embarrassment to the person who is competing. He/She also talks about how gamification discourages the person competing if the "prizes" are not what they expected.
I think that the idea of using gamification at the university is a good idea because though students are not being "spoon fed" by their parents anymore they still have motivation to do work because of the "prize" that will be given at the end on their four years. Gamification motivated me to read in the fifth grade because I was told I would be given a free dinner at one of the new restaurants in town. Gamification, I think, is the best learning system around.

Introduction
Hi, my name is Kabria Poe. I am an Elementary Education with an endorsement in English. I am a little behind in my courses because I decided to change my major after my freshmen year. The classes that I have taken so far have been pretty simple though I have not taken many of my major classes. I planned to endorse in math, but I decided to change it to English because the courses were harder than I expected. Next year I will be a junior entering into my introductory block. Most of the people who I have been talking to says that the classes are not too harsh, but it is still hard work. Hopefully my journey becoming an education will be only three more semesters filled with success.
